So every time I say, "I've been so slack with blogging, I'm really going to start doing better," I end up slacking again! So from now on, no more comments like that :)
We had a WONDERFUL Christmas around our house. Here's a little re-cap:
Christmas Eve: My brother and I always go shopping with my Dad on Christmas Eve morning. I love this time! We get to eat breakfast together, and spend some time together. We also get to pick out a gift of our choosing :) Evans and my Mom decided to start their own tradition, they go to breakfast that morning, too. My mom was sick this year before Christmas, so she still needed to finish up a few things that morning, so they did a little shopping, too! Afterwards, we over to Mom and Dad's and watched Avatar. My brother had just bought the movie, and I had never seen it, so we laid around and relaxed before heading to church for the Vesper service. After the service at church, we headed to my Granny's house for a get-together with my Mom's side of the family. This of course includes lots of wine, so I was ready for bed by the time we got home!
On Christmas day, we wake up (actually Evans wakes us up), and head downstairs to see what all Santa brought Clark. We get some wonderful family time with the 3 of us while we cook breakfast, then get ready to go visiting! We headed to Evans' parents house first. They weren't eating until later in the day, so we had a great time just relaxing, and watching Clark play with his new toys! After visiting them, we headed to my parent's house for dinner. We have grilled steaks the last few years, which is a nice change from the usual turkey or ham dinners. Clark of course loved getting his new toys, especially his new portable DVD player. He plopped right down in front of it, and didn't want any of us to bother him for the rest of the evening!
The day after, we had snow, but we still got together with some family and friends to fry the birds that Evans and a few others shot the week before on their hunting trip. It was a perfect ending to the weekend!
As exhausting as preparing for Christmas is, it was great to be able to relax and enjoy some much needed family time!
