"Really, son?!?"

I have caught myself saying that lots lately. Especially since Clark seems to be getting into EVERYTHING these days!

Take for example Saturday morning…Evans and I were laying in the bed talking, and Clark was in the other room watching his new favorite cartoon, Jake and the Neverland Pirates. I could sing the whole intro song for you, but I won’t. Evans phone starts to ring, so he picks it up to see who is calling so early on a Saturday morning. It was a call from our house phone. What!?! Evans answers it, and receives a happy response from our son, “Hi, Daddy!” “Really, son?!?” We’re not even sure how he got to the phone, much less how he dialed Evans number!

Then yesterday, Clark and I went over to my Mom and Dad’s for a visit because Evans needed some peace and quiet to finish his work. We decided to take him on a walk, and he did such a good job walking around all the mud puddles. He explained that he couldn’t step in them, or he would get stuck. So I wasn’t worried when he walked up to another puddle and looked at it intently. I figured he would just look then walk around. Oh no. After starring it down, he jumped with all his might right into the middle of the puddle. “Really, son ?!?” Great!

And then today, we had to make a Target run. I love Target for so many reasons, Clark loves it for the popcorn. But, since we were making an early run (8:30 AM), I had to explain to him that it was too early for popcorn. Once that breakdown was under control, I quickly grabbed the things off my list, but was having trouble finding the lemon juice. I was walking around the food section, searching for lemon juice, which is on the juice aisle, duh, when I heard Clark say, “I so sorry, Mama.” I looked down to see that he had a handful of my new “All fired up” red nail polish. “Really, son?!?” Of course, I had just switched purses, and didn’t have any wipes, so I wiped off what I could with an old receipt, and made him hold his hand out until we got to the checkout.

Oh well, I’m sure this won’t be the end, and I have a feeling I’ll probably be saying, “Really, son?!?” until he’s an adult. Heck, I’ll probably be saying it when he’s an adult, too! At least he’s cute 
